Watseka, IL -Dr. Jun Kim, OB/GYN on staff at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, is pleased to announce the arrival of Sophia Nayeli born March 24, 2015 at 1:07 p.m., weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 ½ inches long. Little Sophia was Dr. Kim's thirty-first baby delivered since joining the IMH Medical Staff in 2014.Proud parents Laura and Jose Dominguez said, "The care and attention that Sophia and we received from Dr. Kim and the entire OB staff was exceptional, especially being able to have a regular birth after our other child was delivered by c-section."
"We know that there are times that we have no choice but to perform a C-section," Linda McTaggart, Director IMH OB Department, said. "But today women have the option of having a non-surgical delivery after having had a caesarean delivery knowing every step has been taken to assure their safety and their baby's. To see mom and newborn together right after the birth-skin-to-skin, breastfeeding, with their families nearby-lets us know that our efforts and our vigilance are paying off."
