Gonzalo Florido, MD, Named Fellow

Gonzalo Florido, MD FACPWATSEKA, ILLINOIS -Gonzalo Florido, MD FACP, Internal Medicine specialist on staff at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, was recently elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians for his remarkable achievements in internal medicine. He was conferred this mark of distinction during the convocation of new fellows held at the annual convention of ACP in Orlando, Florida.
Fellows of ACP are a distinguished group of doctors dedicated to continuing education in medical practice, teaching, and research. Dr. Florido was also one of the judges selected during the annual National Competition of Research Papers of Internal Medicine Residents.
Dr. Florido has been part of the IMH Medical Staff for over twenty one years and has served in various leadership positions. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford, Illinois; President of the Iroquois County Medical Society; and Health Officer of Newton County. Dr. Florido is a member of the American Medical Directors Association and Medical Director of local nursing homes.
He has served as Iroquois Memorial Hospital Chief of Staff and has been chairman of various committees at IMH. Dr. Florido is also active with the American Cancer Society serving as the President of the ACS Board of Directors, Eastern Division for many years. He has been board certified and is presently enrolled in Continuous Professional Development/Maintenance of Certification Program.
