Final Hospital Acquired Conditions Data Released by CMS - IMH's Rate Low
December 23, 2014
Watseka, IL - Chuck Bohlmann, IMH CEO, is pleased to announce that Iroquois Memorial Hospital has received notice from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that IMH has performed exceptionally well in preventing hospital-acquired conditions and will not be financially penalized by CMS.Earlier this the year a report, based on unverified data, circulated that IMH was among numerous hospitals throughout Illinois with a high infection rate. "We are extremely pleased that CMS has verified that IMH's infection rate is very low. This is a testament to the quality health care provided by our physicians and nurses." said Bohlmann.
Twenty-five percent of the hospitals with the highest rates of hospital-acquired conditions will have their payments from CMS reduced by one percent. Those conditions include a group of reasonably preventable conditions, including infections that patients did not have upon admission and developed during the hospital stay.
