IMH CEO Urges Public To Contact Their Legislators
April 1, 2014
WATSEKA, ILLINOIS - Chuck Bohlmann, IMH CEO, is asking the public to contact their state legislators and urge them to support IMH and other hospitals throughout Illinois and oppose Governor Rauner's drastic Medicaid cuts in the 2016 budget."Governor Rauner's proposed $1.5 billion reduction in Medicaid including nearly $800 million to hospitals would result in over $500,000 of cuts to IMH's Medicaid reimbursement for services to our area's most vulnerable population," said Bohlmann.
In 2011 hospitals throughout Illinois absorbed a $380 million reduction in Medicaid funding. Illinois already ranks 49th in the United States in average spending per Medicaid enrollee. Nearly 20% of Iroquois Memorial Hospital patients are covered by Medicaid.
To contact Senator Jason Barickman please call 217.558.1039 or jason@jasonbarickman.org, and Representative Thomas Bennett please call 217.558.1039 and tell them to not make drastic cuts to Medicaid.
