Lavina Young Trust Awards IMH Telestroke Grant

WATSEKA, ILLINOIS - Representatives from the The Lavina Young Trust recently presented Iroquois Memorial a $30,000 grant for Telestroke technology. Chuck Bohlmann, IMH CEO states, "The grant for Telestroke will benefit those individuals who arrive at IMH having symptoms of a stroke," said Bohlmann.
The Telestroke technology brings a Presence Health Endovascular Neurologist specializing in stroke to the bedside of the patient at Iroquois Memorial Hospital via electronic means. The 2-way advanced audio-visual technology allows for the Endovascular Neurologist to collaboratively consult with an IMH Emergency Department Physician, and an IMH Radiologist. "That collaborative consultation will increases the treatment time, resulting in better outcomes for many patients suffering a stroke," added Bohlmann.
