IMH Ranked in the Top 15% Nationwide by Medicare Invalue Based Purchasing Program
Watseka, Illinois-Leslie Cottrell, RN MSN, IMH Nurse Lead, is pleased announce that Iroquois Memorial Hospital is ranked in the top 15% by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) in their July 2015 Value Based Purchasing Report card.
"We are very excited to be ranked in the eighty-sixth percentile in comparing IMH to the over 3,500 hospitals nationwide and second out of eleven area hospitals," said Cottrell. There are several factors that go into determining IMH's eighty-sixth percentile ranking. Some of those factors include the seventieth percentile for HCAHPS scores, ninetieth percentile for clinical outcomes, and seventy-fourth percentile for efficiency.
Hospital Value-Based Purchasing is part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' long-standing effort to link Medicare's payment system to a value-based system to improve healthcare quality, including the quality of care provided in the inpatient hospital setting. Participating hospitals are paid for inpatient acute care services based on the quality of care, not just quantity of the services they provide. Not all hospitals participate in the Value Based Purchasing program.
