IMH ANNOUNCES MATHEWSON EARNS CREDENTIALS
Iroquois Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that Ashley Mathewson has earned licensure as a Registered Dietician and is also certified as a Nutrition Education Specialist.
Mathewson graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her Masters of Science in Dietetics at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, and an internship at Passavant Area Hospital, Jacksonville, Illinois.
Mathewson gained experience providing nutrition lectures on a variety of topics at the Heartland Spa in Gilman Illinois. She now translates these skills to focus on nutritious, age-appropriate recipes and education activities for her patients at IMH. Named Director of Food Services at IMH in September, 2012, Mathewson works one-on-one with inpatients and outpatients who have special dietary needs related to conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and renal diseases. She is also prepared to work with individuals to create individual weight management plans.
